Vidyanjali Student Shefali Bakre represents her school in Vision Aid 2019 Performance
Burlington Intermediate Group students and Vidyanjali performer Shefali Bakre represented the Vidyanjali Dance School this year in the Vision-Aid fundraiser performance of Skanda by Guru Ramachandran Muralidharan of Chennai. Students are not only required to submit an audition video, but also must dedicate their summer to training and preparing for the multimedia production each year.
Following in the footsteps of 11 brilliant sold-out productions, Vision-Aid’s Invincible Spear – the legend of Skanda – was a remarkable Broadway-style mega dance production with animation and backdrops, fascinating storyline, graceful dances accompanied by melodious music, bringing to life the story of the Skanda – the valiant son of Shiva and Parvati. It traced the story of his life from birth to his youth when he slays the evil demon Soorapadman with the Invincible Spear (“Vel”) from his mother, bringing peace to the world and also his marriage to Valli.
Produced by local dance teachers including Sripriya Natarajan Moorthy, Hema Iyengar, Thenu Rajan, Jeyanthi Ghatraju and more, Vision-Aid is a sold out production each year and raises funds to serve the visually disadvantaged.
We are very proud of Shefali for dedicating her summer to dance and representing Vidyanjali in the community.
